Reggae, rock, latin roots, patchanka, ragamuffin, ethnic and traditional music, Jahmila explodes like a time bomb, formed in 2002. Spanish “pasionaria”, Ana Carril Obiols comes from Madrid via Paris, appears on records by P-18, Spook & the guay, Gabin, works with Bernardo Sandoval and ManoNegra; then fronting Flor del fango (Edel music), with members of ManoNegra, Parabellum etc, brings an unique voice and her sensual and aggressive presence. From Buenos Aires, singer songwriter Alfredo Gomez discharge a load full of songs and dances; when they meet Romano Pasquini, bass player, with punk-rock background as musician and long time reggae tour manager, things came to a crunch. The different background contribute in creating a very special sound centred on the 2 lead vocals, pulsating rhythm and songs both lyrical and militant, exploring the roots of music, together with the guitar-madness of Cristiano Riccardi interfacing his crystal tones with the ethnical variety created by accordion and sax maestro Salvatore Rossano and Fausto Casara creative drumming (jamming in Rome with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder).
